Commitment

I love this quote! I’ve known about it for a long time and it always rings true. It just happened this way with Edie and her kittens…it has happened other times in my life…and I’ve seen it occur many times in the lives of others.

Until one is committed, there is hesitancy, the chance to draw back, always ineffectiveness concerning all acts of initiative and creation. There is one elementary truth, the ignorance of which kills countless ideas and splendid plans; that the moment one definitely commits oneself, then providence moves, too. All sorts of things occur to help one that would never otherwise have occurred. A whole stream of events issues from the decision, raising in one’s favor all manner of unforeseen events, meetings and material assistance which no one could have dreamed would have come their way.

Three interesting pictures. I’m wondering if the bird is a Flicker. Nice barn shots too. The quote has proven true of decisions in my life … and I’ve lived a bunch of years! ;-)

We’ve had a few flickers here before but I think that’s just a common rock pigeon (we have plenty of those).

I think I see faces, Candace. :P Excellent quote, and one that I needed today. Thanks!

I can’t say the quote you used is wrong… perhaps that’s why I have so many open projects, fear of commitment. Yet it’s like a closet full of suits — you can only wear one at a time unless you want to look like an idiot.
