I can’t believe I haven’t posted in a week! And I can’t say that I was doing anything very exciting instead. (Click photos for more detail.)

Maybe it’s finally beginning to look like spring where you are…but we’re in the midst of it right now.

These photos were all taken in our yard and a couple of immediate neighbors’ yards. Our next-door neighbors were kind enough to plant a bunch of new stuff last weekend for me to photograph.

Basil Blooms

This, above, is my miracle basil. Basil loves heat so doesn’t do well when it gets cold. Well, admittedly, it doesn’t get all that cold here, comparatively speaking, but we did have several nights of below freezing temps in December…yet my poor little basil pulled through the winter and I’ve never had that happen before.

Hope your spring is beginning to be colorful, too.

  1. Beautiful photos! Beautiful Spring!

  2. Diane Rapaport

Candace is one of the only people I know that can find beauty in Phoenix, not only its urban madness, but also in its flowers and birds. I look forward to her posts.

  3. A fine collection of pretty spring plant growth. You have the right kind of neighbors who provide more subjects! Spring here is still dormant and brown.

  4. You have so much beautiful color there, Candace, and so many different plants to enjoy. Our basil would not have a chance to survive our winters, but I did have some reseed itself last year. It was a really nice surprise.

    You have a wonderful week!

  5. Lots of lovely photos!
