Gone, But Not Forgotten

I believe that God is in me as the sun is in the color and fragrance of a flower~the Light in my darkness, the Voice in my silence. Helen Keller

A few days ago, I saw this flower on a little cactus in my neighbor’s yard. I’ve never seen such a large flower on such a tiny cactus. A couple of days later, I went back to see it. The cactus was there, the stem was there, but no flower. It had rained heavily so I don’t know if the rain broke the flower off or if a person did. At least a photo of it remains…

  1. Isn’t it amazing that that tiny little cactus has the recipe & the “ingredients” to make such a lovely big flower!

  2. Wow, that’s a gorgeous flower! It’s a new one for me. The petals look like white goose feathers. I’m glad you caught it!

  3. The bottom pic was amazing: love the clarity of the flower, and the softness of the cactus… nice work!

  4. a moment you captured …then gone. it is such a stunning bloom on such a unlikely base..just amazing

  5. A fine close up of this pretty cactus flower. Let’s hope the rain got the blossom and not some unthinking person who felt they needed a blossom.

  6. I share your appreciation for the beauty of nature. Amazing how the small cactus can produce such kind of flower.
