If you are in the Phoenix area and are interested in southwest history, you should check out these petroglyphs. The Deer Valley Rock Art Center is a museum, nature preserve and archaeological site with the largest concentration of Native American rock art in the Phoenix Valley. There are approximately 1,500 petroglyphs on basaltic boulders as well as a museum, gardens, hiking trails (really easy ones), wildflowers in bloom, and various events throughout the year.
They even have a UFO landing strip.
Well, okay, not really, but it’s kind of an out-of-the-way, barren, moonscape-like environment where you can imagine such things and who knows what goes on there in the middle of the night. Spread the word!
